Networks of Care

Networks of Care is a travelling cultural assembly bringing together independent publications from ACV’s ecosystem. It explores self-publishing and DIY culture as forms of care, imagination and resistance.

Project Summary

First presented as part of ACV’s INBETWEEN programme at the ICA, Networks of Care brings together publications by artists, writers, collectives and independent publishers whose practices are rooted in community, self-determination and cultural resistance.

Rather than presenting these works in isolation, the project explores the networks that exist between them: shared contributors, collaborators, audiences, ideas and experiences. Together, the publications form a living map of an ecosystem that moves across disciplines and forms, demonstrating how networks can sustain independent cultural practice.

The installation was co-designed and co-built with RESOLVE Collective using reclaimed materials sourced through their Material Store, an initiative exploring material justice and the redistribution of resources. Conceived as an evolving and adaptable structure, Networks of Care has since travelled to institutions and festivals, creating new contexts for the publications, ideas and communities it brings together.
